The sleek lines and the luxurious ornaments found in the Biarritz Building, in Rio de Janeiro, give Art Deco references to Patachou's 2012 summer collection. One of the icons of the design movement in Brazil, this 1940s building summarizes the glamorous architectural style of France adapted to the Flamengo beach's tropical atmosphere.

While the prosperity of that period is represented in Biarritz' noble metals, marble and hardwood, in Patachou's creations, this influence appears in luxurious materials like silk, washed satin, lace, and fabrics with patterns including piqué and honeycomb, which give texture to the prints.

The silhouettes are slender, I and Y-shaped — the former refers to color rows and mixed prints, while the latter has a light volume on top given by a line of shirts, which results in some of the key pieces of this season.

Maxi prints and embroideries of toucans recover the tropical items that have changed the Art Deco in Brazil. Stylized flowers appear either in a more urban industrial embroidery work, or in a handmade romantic style. Python prints applied to cotton piqué patterns produce a natural look. Embroidery on silk satin, in the same color as the fabric, gives a soft glow to some pieces, and white lace are the backdrop to an embroidery reproducing the building's rails. Geometric toucans appear in different combinations of size, repetition and in vibrant, carreaoux patterned colors reproduced in skirts, dresses and jumpers.

In the color chart, the classical and sophisticated black & white blend into summer shades like coral, yellow, green and royal blue. A selection of necklaces and bracelets of metal, acrylic and stone in maxi proportions portray Biarritz's grandeur in accessories.
